WerkHaus Zine Issue 6 – guilt/free

WerkHaus Zine is a print and digital publication of contemporary photography curated by Workhorse Collective.

It’s a collaborative zine. We put out an open call to photographers and artists all over the world. It is a place to document and re-imagine our urban lives and spaces.

Theme: ‘guilt/free’

Our themes are an invitation to artists. We offer a prompt so they can make new work, or rediscover previous images in a new light. We try to make it open, so that people to find a connection to it. We want to put together a collection of images that helps us think about the theme in new ways.

With this theme we were thinking about guilt and freedom. It’s that simple! Guilt has a heavy presence in many of our lives, but is it a useful emotion? As for freedom, how many of us truly experience that? We wanted to bring these two concepts together, to look at them side by side and in connection to each other.

As always, our heartfelt thanks go out to everyone who submitted. We had over 100 entries for the zine with a huge range of different approaches and responses to our theme.
